We liked our guide Gretel, the Revolutionary Museum, driving through the countryside, the organic farms, Cienfuegos and Trinidad. We visited a store to buy rum and, later, a ceramics shop in Trinidad.

I enjoyed the good humor, intelligence and creativity of Cubans. The energy of Havana and the hiking in Topes de Collantes were incredible. The various guides, including our own guide Gretel, were excellent: knowledgeable and organized.

I was very impressed with the entire tour. Old Havana was outstanding. Our trip to Trinidad was a pleasure. The tour gave me a different insight into Cuba. People seem worried about our next President, as are we. Just when things are looking up… Our Guide Greta was just the best ever! She worked around many obstacles to make sure we saw everything that was promised. On our free night, she even arranged for tickets to see Buena Vista Social Club. She was unfailingly cheerful and answered every question to the very best of her ability.

Cuba is a beautiful Island. I enjoyed seeing the places we visited outside Havana. I didn’t like Havana much – however most people on our tour loved it. Our guide Gretel Blanco was simply AWESOME! We were fortunate to have a group of people who were all friendly, considerate, and cooperative. Gretel set the tone, I think. She was sweet, helpful in every way, efficient, patient with our endless questions. When we said goodbye, I said, “You have 19 new friends in US if you could ever come visit us, we would all love to have you!” Meals were excellent, without exception. New Years Eve Party at the Hotel Presidente featured two great bands and professional dancers. I loved the art and music, everywhere! Tour bus driver was great. The bus always had lots of bottled water for us, which was hard to come by elsewhere. We all learned so much. I was very impressed by the fact that Cuba has universal “free” higher education and medical care, and that Cuban government gives each person a certain amount of food each month. Being there was definitely like going back in time – surreal.

Cuba was exciting and amazing. The people are wonderful, patriotic and hopeful. It was sad to see the infrastructure just falling apart. You can see how beautiful the country once was. Sad.
The tour was great in giving a good cross section of the country, from city to rural to resort. You definitely leave with a good feel for the country as a whole.

Wonderful people! They seem to naturally seek out the best in things and find a way to smile and be happy regardless just because they support each other. Havana was good and the New Year’s Eve celebration was a blast and the best I have seen in my life. However, the best half of the trip for me was the trip to Santiago and rural areas in mountains. Less city but I felt more in touch with ordinary Cubans. No problems with the tour.

The Cuban people were very nice and interesting. I am impressed with the efforts for organic farming and beginning to actually use the land for food production. I hope there can be more opportunities for them to improve their financial status. The enthusiasm and knowledge of our guide Grency Rodriguez made the Cuba tour a success. She was excited for each day with full schedules, long drives and all, but she had a wonderful spirit and knowledge which made us all want to see and experience even more. There is always the problem of air conditioning either too hot or too cold, but that is an issue for me with all hotels. Overall my room was perfect, I just totally cut off the air at the circuit breaker when it got too cold.

The bur driver was excellent.like Cuban art, music, dance, atmosphere of love, joy at plazas and architecture. Wish had direct contact with university Cuban english speaking students and teachers.Wish we had Salsa dance lessons at local studio and had more architecture tour too.

Impressive tension-free mixing of races. Very interesting culture and history, sadly dominated by a succession of problematic governments. People were generally very friendly. Lots of beautiful vistas and buildings; general lack of consumer products and widespread lack of maintenance. Loved the visit to the Museum of the Revolution and distinctive artistic activities. Excellent, informative tour guide. The tour company dealt well with changing conditions requiring relocating the New Year’s Eve gala and the museums that could be visited. Most meals were very good. Breakfasts at Habana Libre were surprisingly varied and lavish. Going to the successor of Buena Vista Social Club was special. While tipping was expected, it was often surprisingly difficult to get the needed change or small-denomination currency.

Erasmo in particular was very helpful. Most people were nice, accepting and curious about America. I loved Viñales and the country side, the fact that rum is a condiment, visiting the fincas and learning from the farmers. Maybe a little less structured time and more free time. Would have liked to explore street art to take pictures of more than I was able to for lack of time.

I especially liked the walking tour of Old Havana. I also enjoyed Tropicana show, though no mention was made of classical culture in the city. Classic car ride was enjoyed by everyone – a nice conclusion. Also really enjoyed Hemingway’s home. Cuba’s a very interesting place. I am motivated to learn more about the city, it’s history, race relations, etc. I will purchase new book written by MY Times author, that was published about two weeks ago.

What a fantastic trip! Our guide Susanna, was great. Very friendly, knowledgeable and full of information. The people were friendly in the restaurants, bars and tourist spots, but no one stopped to talk to us on the street. We enjoyed the special trips that were planned for us. Even though we only had three days in Cuba, we felt like we saw and did a week’s worth of things. I really liked going to the Hemingway house and to Fusterlandia. What an incredible place! Initially, I was concerned about add on fees (visa), airfare (not included, so we had to figure it out), but everything worked out fine. It was just the unknown element. Otherwise, perfect once we landed and all the way through to drop off at the airport.
